Inside

       An oddity of human perception is that we perceive as a symbol of eternity, light,….. in truth, light is not infinite , it's merely  a form of matter, polarized and traveling at astonishing speeds, yet, when the chemical compound fueling these reactions stops, so does light, and then we are returned to the primordial darkness.
       Our mind, in its complexity, mirrors the universe that we live in, and no matter how much light we shed, the darkness is always there. In the begging , nothingness permeates your being, you are at peace, no beginning , no end , tabula rasa, but then something happens, a spark, a light , an explosion, and idea. The flood of light , sound, smell, floods your once hollow mind, and the darkness you were once in seems to disappear.
       As minutes turn to hours, hours to days, days to months, and months to years, the world that once seemed infinite is slowly getting smaller, you fall into routine, then you can feel it, the scratches, slowly clawing away at your consciousness , it was always there you know, the darkness .A hollow point etched into the very core of our being , a hunger , a lust, a need that can never be filled.
       You watch the clock, counting the minutes you waste everyday, hoping there might be a way to get them back, your room seems more confined with each passing moment , you walk out , you run, but you always come back in the end, to your house, to your room, to your cage.
       After a while the clock ticks a little faster, your room seems a little smaller day by day, until it stops….you can't hear the clock , your world is so small that you can only hear what's inside. Your heartbeat, and a voice, a voice  that echoes inside your mind……
